Leave your mark in Mountain Home

The Mountain Home Chamber of Commerce are now selling bricks for their Military Brick Wall going up in Carl Miller Park this Fall. $75 for a 4"X8" and $150 for a 8" X 8". Bricks can be purchased in honor of a current or past military member. They are asking for all orders and payments to be submitted by October 1st.

HSI is Over Ice Cream Party!

Has your spouse been a little more stressed lately?  Have you heard about the upcoming "inspection" more than a few times?  Perhaps they have been working later than normal? 

Well, we would like the celebrate the end 

of the inspection with an ice cream party.

Tuesday, September 4 from 11-1

FREE for all the hospital staff

Spouses we need you to volunteer and/or donate some toppings.  If you are able to volunteer (we need about 6 volunteers) we need to you to be there NLT 10:15 to set up.  People will start arriving for ice cream at 10:45 ;)  Also, bring your ice cream scoop (labeled).

Be looking for an email coming soon asking for ice cream toppings.

What a GREAT event this was to kick off the 2012-2013 school year.  Thank you to ALL who participated, it was a worthy cause!  Operation Homefront was able to give out over 130 backpacks and we gave out all or the school supplies.  The Hot Shots and MDG know how to serve!

Celebrating with the Bernheim Family!

The daughter of Major Mary Bernheim (flight cc for surgical operations) and one of our spouses, "B", has been named to the USA Rugby All-American team.  Their daughter, Rose, is attending Norwich University in Northfield, VT., where she has been selected to be one of the vice-captians this season for the school's rugby team.  She was a rookie of the year for the team as a freshman.

She is a junior and honor student at the college, majoring in war and peace studies, while attending on several scholarships, including a four year U.S. Army Scholarship.

The NEW Baby Gift!

A big THANKS to Stephanie, our baby gifts chairperson, who worked hard at researching and getting these cute bibs made.  The bibs will be given to anyone in the Med Group who has a baby.

FREE Backpacks - STUFFED with School Supplies!

All ranks are eligible for backpacks and can sign up on our Operation Homefront Mountain West website below:

There is no need to sign up prior, but encouraged.  I will have sign in sheets available at the day of the event as well.

The Backpacks will be handed out at 6 pm at the Gunfighter Park - at the conclusion of our Back to School Bash/Carnival.

Need a Dress for the Ball?

What: One Day Air Force Ball $10 Dress Event

When: Saturday, August 25, 2012, 10am-12pm

 

Dresstravaganza, a non-profit organization, will be having an open house for military spouses needing a gown for the Air Force Ball. They ARE NOT regularly open except during prom season, so this is a special event just for us. If you are looking for an inexpensive gown for the ball, this is your answer. You will be able to BORROW a dress for the ball at a cost of $10 for dry cleaning. Can't beat that price!  You will need to show your ID and fill out paperwork with your information for their records.
