Although the Exchange is part of the federal government, 97 percent of our budget comes from customer sales, less than 3 percent from tax dollars. Some transactions may be delayed, such as the purchase of firearms, which require background checks or other federal government actions.

 Breaking News! Taco Bell Arena has donated one hundred (100) tickets to Mountain Home AFB for Josh Groban. This concert will be performed at Taco Bell Arena on Wednesday, 2 October, 2013 with the show scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets: Tickets will be available for pickup starting MONDAY, 30 September, at 10 a.m. at the Community Skills Center. Tickets are available to active duty, retirees and DoD civilians, (limit two per person). Supply is limited, so hurry in!

No federal endorsement intended.

1st Annual Med Spouses Chili Cook-off

Our fund raiser was a success.  We ran out of chili with in an hour and raised a good amount for the children's holiday party.  1st place went to SSgt Amanda Smet, 2nd went to Robin Cook and 3rd went to Candie Theriot.

Chili-cook and potato bake tomorrow

Got my chili in the crock pot ready to rock it tomorrow at the chili cook-off and potato bake. Moxie upstairs lobby of hospital from 11-1. Come enjoy the friendly competition or just get out of the cold weather and have some great chili or a baked potato.  We wont turn anyone away who wants to help and we start set-up at 10am. Come one, come all, but come hungry!!

Chili cook-off / potato cook off Friday 27 September

Get your crockpots ready!!  Do you have what it takes to take the title of Best Chili this Friday? Or maybe you just want a baked potato as you enjoy the crispness of fall. 

 

Come out and enjoy as we host our fundraiser for the children's holiday party. 

 

We will be setting up in the upstairs lobby by moxie at 10am.  Tasting and judging will take place from 11am-1pm. We need help with a few things:

 

cooking the potatoes (potatoes will be provided)

serving

set up/clean up

***Military Heart Event***

 Mountain Home AFB Liberty Chapel hosts an annual event called the Military Heart Event. This event is designed to honor the women in the military community. This year it will take place 14 September from 1000-1200 at the Gunfighter’s Club.

We are looking for volunteers to help out with Wee Joy. The children are ages 3 and under. Snacks, drinks, toys, and anything the children and volunteers need to be comfortable will be provided. Having someone to look out for our little ones will give the women a chance to connect with God, other women in the community, and with themselves.

If you are interested in this volunteer opportunity, please contact Ieshia Spears at Liberty Chapel (828-6417).

***KEY SPOUSE TRAINING***

The next Key Spouse Initial training is scheduled for next week, 10 Sep 13 from 0830-1230 here at the center.

The next Key Spouse Quarterly training is scheduled for the following week, 18 Sep 13 0900-1100 here at the center.

The next Senior/Key Spouse Crisis Response Training is scheduled for 3 Oct 13 0900-1500 at the Gunfighter Club. The time is subject to change; if all goes well we'll be done by NOON but plan accordingly. The training is open all senior leadership spouses and Key Spouses regardless if you have attended before. (Ms. Brooke - will you forward to all senior leadership spouses for me? Much appreciated!)

With all the trainings, to sign up, please contact the front desk at 828-2458. Be advised the Crisis Response Training requires a minimum of 15 in attendance.

At last count we have 120 Key Spouses assigned here at Mtn Home! I'm honored and humbled to work along aside all of you. Please pass on the info to anyone interested in being a Key Spouse; HOWEVER, please ensure interested spouses contact the Commander or First Sgt prior to attending Initial training. ESC meeting tonight

Good morning spouses!!  Just a friendly reminder over this long Labor Day weekend that our monthly ESC meeting is tonight at 6:30pm at the base chapel.  We will be having a free Bunco social afterwards, so come mingle and join in the fun!!  Childcare is provided on site.

***BABY ANNOUNCEMENT***

I wanted to inform you that we have a new member to the 366 MDG by way of the MDSS squadron.  LT John Wendell and his wife Caitlin welcomed a baby girl, Claire Elise, at 4:05 this morning 3 Sept. She weighed in at 7 lbs 12 ozs. Mother and baby are both doing well.

 

I wanted to let you know that I will be taking a few meals over to help.  If you want to provide a meal as well, please let me know as I am the POC for them on this issue. You can email me at tami.corby@gmail.com or call/text me at 210-319-8833.
